My Ideal Client

I specialize in trauma processing (PTSD, complex PTSD, and single-incident traumas), depression, and anxiety (generalized anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, and social anxiety), and have expertise in treating a variety of other issues including bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation, self-harm, ADHD, difficult relationships, autism, personality disorders, life transitions, low self-esteem, grief/loss, substance abuse, and psychosis. I have listed additional areas of focus below.

My Background

I have eight years of diverse experience across various mental health settings, including private practice, non-profit community centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), and community rehabilitation. In my role as a community rehabilitation provider, I specialized in community-based rehabilitation for individuals with mental health disabilities, assisting them with benefit applications, resource access, and community integration. I have served as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist for children, adolescents, and young adults on the autism spectrum as well. These experiences allow me to offer extensive expertise in supporting individuals facing a wide range of challenges, from minor life transitions to severe mental health symptoms.

My Approach to Helping

I believe healing happens when we learn to listen to our bodies and our emotions. My approach is warm, intuitive, and collaborative. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can slow down, notice what's happening inside, and gently reconnect with the parts of yourself that you've had to protect or push aside for a long time. I pay close attention to your nervous system and what it's communicating, helping you shift from survival mode into a greater sense of steadiness and self-connection at a pace that feels safe to you. I draw from EMDR, attachment theory, person-centered therapy, internal family systems, psychodynamic therapy, somatic awareness and others. With these modalities, we will work with how your experiences live in the body rather than just talk about them. We'll explore where tension settles, emotions get stuck, and where there's room for release or expansion. My main goal is to help you feel seen, safe, and grounded as you rediscover a sense of ease in your body.

    Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) has proven to be highly effective in processing traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and grief, among various other concerns. I have specialized training in EMDR therapy, and hold certification through the EMDR International Association.

    Attachment theory addresses anxious and avoidant behaviors that strain relationships with friends, family, and romantic partners.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) External link

    Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is an approach that helps you explore the different parts of yourself and the roles they play in your life. It can help you better understand patterns like anxiety, people-pleasing, self-criticism, emotional overwhelm, and others.

  • Somatic Therapy (Body Centered) External link

    Somatic therapy focuses on the connection between the mind and body, acknowledging that trauma is stored in the nervous system. This can manifest as physical symptoms such as tension, pain, or the fight/flight/freeze response. This approach focuses on calming the nervous system, processing emotional memories, and restoring balance.

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

    Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is helpful with challenging negative thought patterns, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing key skills such as communication, coping, and problem-solving. I have specialized training in trauma-focused CBT.
