My Ideal Client

A variety of circumstances can lead us to seek psychotherapy. Sometimes it may be longstanding, difficult emotions, or perhaps painful memories brought you here. There may be a sudden loss, or a life-change that prompts you to seek the understanding and compassion that psychotherapy can bring. I work with people who seek relief, reflection, and insight. I believe that, when supported, we all have the ability to heal and grow, and we can know more emotional contentment, resilience and connection.

My Approach to Helping

I work in a collaborative style, incorporating techniques and theories from psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive behavioral theories with the research on development, attachment and the neurobiological impact of trauma. My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I received my doctoral degree over 15 yeas ago from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Oregon. In my training and working years, was lucky enough to be able to learn from gifted clinicians and teachers. I had the good fortune to train at UCSF at the AIDS Health Project, UCSF Child Trauma Research Project, and at the San Francisco Psychotherapy Research Group. I've since received advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, Buddhist Psychology, and PTSD treatments. When not working, I can be found walking my dogs, spending time with my family, digging in the dirt (both metaphorically and literally!) and dreaming of road trips.
