My Ideal Client

You know that feeling of being "too much" or "not enough" – too sensitive, too intense, too different? Of carrying invisible burdens that others don't see or understand? You've likely tried to squeeze yourself into categories and treatments that felt like wearing clothes that don't fit. I will work with who you actually are, not who you think you should be.

My Background and Approach

I believe healing happens through connection – to yourself, your body, and what truly matters to you. Rather than forcing you into pre-made treatment boxes, I translate evidence-based approaches into your natural way of being and communicating. Some days we might work through movement and breathwork. Other times we'll explore thoughts and patterns. We might dive into family dynamics or sit with existential questions about meaning and identity. Your therapy adapts to you, not the other way around. I enjoy working with people from many different backgrounds. I began my anti-racist, anti-bias journey more than twenty years ago. I remain grateful for the patience and confrontation provided by my early teachers and mentors. I am willing to engage with openness around issues related to bias and oppression. I identify, in part, as a white, cis-gender, middle-age queer from the East Coast. I continue to do my own work around privilege and internalized biases.

More About the People I Treat

I specialize in working with beautifully complex people: the neurodivergent, the deeply feeling, the gifted minds, the caretakers-since-childhood, LGBTQIA+ folks, and anyone whose inner world feels vast and sometimes overwhelming. If you've experienced trauma, chronic pain, persistent anxiety, or that floating feeling of dissociation, you'll find understanding here.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Chronic Pain or Illness External link

I approach chronic pain with the same nuanced perspective as with other therapy issues. Your therapy starts where you are. I am certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy and offer group therapy specific to people with chronic pain in addition to anxiety, depression or trauma. I participate in regular and on-going training to stay up to date on the emerging research while offering a grounded approach that centers on you.

  • PTSD External link

I work especially well with people experiencing chronic or complex trauma who have already completed structured or skill-based types of therapy like dialectical-behavior therapy (DBT), eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), exposure-response prevention (ERP), internal family systems (IFS) or an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and want to integrate those skills as they address current challenges or deeper exploration of patterns.
