My Approach to Helping

In my approach to helping I focus on equipping you with practical tools and techniques which foster self-regulation and resilience. I blend inner child work , internal family systems, and attachment theory to help you understand how your early experiences shape your interactions and emotional world. Using a trauma-informed and culturally competent lens, I tailor our work to fit. your unique background and needs. I draw from a range of approaches including IFT, CBT, EFT, Mindfulness and Somatic awareness- to give you a toolkit of strategies that you can use use daily. My goal is to help you find peace within yourself, understand the workings of your mind and body, and build healthier relationships. With my background in special education and my experience living abroad, I bring an eclectic, culturally aware, and empathetic perspective to our work together.

Why I Became a Therapist

My path to becoming a therapist began in the classroom as a teacher, where I quickly realized that children's emotional well-being was central to their success. This insight lead me to specialize in special education, where I saw firsthand how critical the roles of both teachers and parents were. As I delved deeper, I became curious about how parents' own upbringing and generational traumas influenced their ability to support their children as well as navigate their own adult relationships. Eventually, I transitioned to working as a Marriage and Family Therapist, allowing me to focus entirely on emotional health and help individuals , couples, and families tap into their innate capacity for happiness and fulfillment.
