My Approach

I believe youhave the tools and resources to solve your own problems. However, sometimes those tools and resources can be difficult to identify, especially when those problems are at their worst. My strengths-based approach draws on your strengths, resources, past successes, and hopes for the future. Deciding to see a therapist can be an intimidating process, and can be filled with all sorts of questions. My goal is to make therapy feel accessible and welcoming. I view myself a guide in the therapeutic change process. It’s always my goal to help empower you to solve your own problems. You can also expect a judgment-free environment when you come to therapy. Therapy only works when you can be totally honest with your therapist. I work to create an environment where you feel comfortable sharing details about your life. My hope is that I can create a space where you are willing to go to places of discomfort, because you are comfortable with our process.

My Background

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists. I hold a Master's Degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. I am supervised by Tiffany Brown, LMFT. During my Master's program, I worked as a therapist at PeaceHealth Counseling, providing therapy to children, adolescents, and families at an outpatient pediatric clinic. I also provided individual, couples, and family therapy at the University of Oregon's Center for Family Therapy. I have significant experience working with adolescents as both a therapist and coach, and am passionate about working with this age group. My previous professional experience includes coaching high school baseball, working as a college admissions interviewer and application reader, and working as a freelance journalist for a variety of publications. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from Macalester College, where I played NCAA baseball.
