My Approach to Helping

I provide a collaborative and holistic mind-body approach to psychotherapy. I believe that every individual has an innate capacity to heal and deepen their connection to self/others. I offer practical tools to help you achieve a greater sense of growth and well-being and find relief from the unhealthy patterns that keep you stuck. It is my goal to create a safe and compassionate environment in which your unique strengths and resources can be accessed, and the negative experiences from the past that continue to affect the present can be uncovered and resolved. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who experience relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and eating disorders. Within these modalities, I integrate psychodynamic, mindfulness, behavioral approaches to provide the most comprehensive and holistic care. It is my joy and honor to accompany you during this part of your journey of self-discovery and transformation.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I hold a master's degree in counseling psychology from Lewis & Clark College with an emphasis in Eating Disorders and Addiction. My training includes clinical experience in both partial hospitalization and outpatient levels of care with children, adolescents, and adults. I offer four years of experience in a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient level of care as the Primary Therapist at the Eating Disorder Center of Portland and Program Director at Center for Discovery Portland Outpatient, which allowed me to work with an array of eating disorder symptoms and co-occurring conditions. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who experience relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, and eating disorders. NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS AT THIS TIME

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Attachment Theory External link

I strongly believe that our attachment experiences, from birth through adulthood, shape the way that we relate to ourselves and others. I will help you understand this lens through which you see the world, and open up possibilities for growth and healing, which ultimately leads to a more authentic and meaningful connections.

  • EMDR External link

EMDR is an integrative approach that helps facilitate a natural healing process in all individuals. EMDR has been extensively researched and proven to be effective in relieving all types of difficulties. The goal of EMDR is to leave you with the emotions, understanding, and perspectives that will lead to healthy/useful behaviors and interactions. EMDR can offer healing and empowerment.

  • Psychodynamic  External link

At the core, I believe that the past influences the present, and it is important to examine some of the deep roots that may be causing you issues as you move towards healing and growth. Counseling can provide you an opportunity to recognize and resolve these blocks and develop effective tools for working through them.

Issues I Treat
