My Ideal Client

You or your child may feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or anxious. I work with children, teens, and emerging adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, life transitions, self-esteem, and relationship or family challenges. Therapy can help you make sense of what you are experiencing, build practical skills, and feel more confident being yourself. We will work together to understand what matters to you and identify realistic steps toward change.

My Approach to Helping

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon with a Master of Social Work from Portland State University. Since 2021, I have worked in residential, day treatment, and outpatient mental health settings, supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families. My clinical experience includes anxiety, depression, ADHD, neurodivergence, trauma, emotional regulation, family conflict, identity development, grief, and life transitions. My approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT-informed skills, trauma-focused interventions, family systems, and mindfulness-based practices. I tailor treatment to each person rather than expecting one approach to work for everyone, and I aim to help clients build practical skills while making room to understand the experiences and patterns beneath their struggles.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, genuine, and grounded in respect. You are the expert on your own experience; my role is to bring curiosity, clinical knowledge, and practical tools to help you understand yourself and make changes that matter to you. I value affirming care for LGBTQIA2S+ clients and people exploring identity, and I welcome neurodivergent clients and families. I take a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach that recognizes how relationships, family systems, culture, and life circumstances shape our experiences. Depending on your needs and preferences, sessions may include conversation, coping-skills practice, mindfulness, creative activities, or other ways of making therapy useful and engaging. My goal is not to fit you into a template, but to help you build a life that feels more manageable, connected, and true to who you are.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) External link

ACT helps you build a life guided by your values rather than letting difficult thoughts and feelings dictate your choices. We work on making room for uncomfortable emotions, developing psychological flexibility, and taking meaningful action even when life feels uncertain. The goal is not to eliminate every difficult feeling, but to help you respond to challenges in ways that align with who you want to be.

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

CBT explores how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify patterns that contribute to anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling stuck and develop practical strategies for changing them. Our work may include examining unhelpful assumptions, practicing new behaviors, and building skills you can use in everyday life.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

DBT-informed strategies can help you navigate intense emotions, tolerate distress, and communicate more effectively. We focus on recognizing emotional patterns, developing practical coping skills, and finding ways to respond thoughtfully rather than react automatically. These tools can be especially helpful when emotions feel overwhelming or relationships become difficult to navigate.

  • Family Systems External link

Our relationships and family environments can shape how we understand ourselves and navigate the world. A family systems approach explores relational patterns, communication, boundaries, and the roles people develop within their families. We can work to understand how these dynamics affect your current experiences and identify opportunities for healthier interactions, greater independence, and meaningful change.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • ADHD External link

ADHD affects more than attention. It can influence motivation, emotional regulation, relationships, and self-esteem. I help clients understand how their brains work, develop practical strategies that fit their needs, and navigate the frustration or self-doubt that can arise when traditional approaches do not work. Together, we can build skills and a more compassionate understanding of yourself.

  • PTSD External link

Trauma can shape how we understand ourselves, navigate relationships, and respond to situations that feel unsafe. You may struggle with trust, feel constantly on edge, or notice patterns you do not fully understand. I offer trauma-informed support to help you understand how past experiences affect the present, develop coping skills, and build a future that feels more manageable and aligned with who you want to be.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety can make uncertainty feel overwhelming, turn everyday decisions into exhausting tasks, and leave you anticipating what might go wrong. Therapy can help you understand your patterns, develop practical tools for managing distress, and build confidence in navigating uncertainty. Together, we can work toward making decisions and engaging in relationships based on what matters to you rather than what anxiety tells you to avoid.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

Exploring your identity, navigating relationships, and finding belonging can be complicated, especially when others' expectations do not align with your experience. I offer affirming support for LGBTQ+ clients navigating identity development, family dynamics, relationships, and the effects of stigma or rejection. You do not need to have everything figured out. Therapy can help you better understand yourself and build a life where you feel comfortable being who you are.
