My Approach to Helping

I've worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years, serving clients at every level from inpatient psychiatric care, to community mental health, and now outpatient mental health services. I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to help people from all backgrounds manage and resolve struggles around depression, anxiety, and trauma. During my time in practice, I have treated clients suffering from issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, ADD & ADHD, and depression.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

One of the biggest and hardest step that one can take in their mental health journey is that first phone call or email to reach out for professional health. My practice is based around a relational approach, building a strong partnership to process, strategize, and lift the weight of unresolved trauma and self doubt that many of us carry everyday. My practice is also based on a racial justice and equality framework and follow the NASW (National Organization of Social Workers) Code of Ethics. I believe that mental health care is a human right, which is why I am currently accepting OHP insurance as a way to ensure that there is no cost to you when seeking treatment.

  • PTSD External link

    I have treated many clients who have met the clinical definition for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic stress disorder unspecified. These cases have ranged from individual discrete traumas to historical and multi-generational traumas utilizing evidence based treatments such as Narrative Therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

  • Depression External link

    Over the years I have treated many clients suffering from depression using a variety of approaches suited to the individual person. I believe in a humanistic and client centered approach that takes into account external and societal factors in addition to internal cognitions.

  • ADHD External link

    Many of the children clients I've treated have met the diagnosis for ADHD and suffered from behavioral problems in home, daycare, and school settings. I've had a lot of success helping kiddos to manage their emotions, learn to "stop and think" before acting impulsively, and learn to self soothe when upset so that they can better participate in group settings.
