My Approach to Helping
I work with adults, couples, and teens (14+) to process experiences, build awareness, and develop new skills and patterns. I blend forms of talk therapy with nervous system-based approaches to help the parts of you that feel anxious, guarded, or stuck in fight-or-flight feel safe enough to open up and exhale. We’ll make space for the things you can’t change, and focus on what’s within your control. My approach is grounded in warmth, curiosity, authenticity, collaboration, and a sprinkle of humor. I check in throughout our work about feedback and adjust accordingly. My hope is that the space we create together can offer you the trust and invitation to feel welcomed as you are, and the support and structure to grow into who you're becoming. ** I can bill insurance for individual and couples counseling, and have a sliding scale for people paying out-of-pocket with limited financial resources. **
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value transparency and try to support the dignity, agency, and accessibility of those I work with. I am committed to ongoing learning, reflection, consultation, supervision, and my own personal therapy, in order to be the best counselor and person I can be. Outside of counseling, I spend my time: sewing, playing in my garden, connecting with loved ones, eating snacks, exploring with my dog, and appreciating moments of joy and beauty. If you'd like to schedule a free 30-minute consultation or have questions, feel free to reach out. For more information, you can check out my website. Whether we end up working together or not, I wish you the best on this journey.
