My Background and Approach
I have many years of experience working specifically with children, adolescents and young adults, and was a former therapist and MAT Assessor in Los Angeles, California working with The Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) and children in the foster care system. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Concordia University, and earned my Master’s Degree in Psychology (Marriage & Family Therapy) from Chapman University. I am also licensed in both Oregon and California as an LMFT. I work primarily in the therapeutic modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy. I have also been trained in various Evidence-Based Practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I highly encourage potential clients to reach out, in order to see how we connect (as the therapist-client relationship is highly connected to a positive experience in therapy). I am also happy to discuss a sliding-scale fee.
Why I am a Good Fit for You
I utilize a trauma-informed, relational, strength-based, non-judgmental style to provide a safe space in the therapy room for my clients to explore, heal and grow. I work with a wide variety of individuals and groups (adolescents, adults, couples and families) and work in depth with trauma/abuse, women’s issues, self-esteem, postpartum struggles, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. I aspire to help my clients improve coping skills, enhance interpersonal relationships, increase self-esteem and build positive communication skills. I strive to maintain a humanistic approach in the therapy-room with my clients, and truly value the importance of a positive therapist-client relationship. When I am not a therapist, I am a mother raising three small children. I am a true Pacific Northwest girl at heart (born & raised), but have spent a significant portion of my life living and learning in Southern California.
