My Ideal Client

I work best with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck often carrying the weight of trauma, cultural expectations, or major life transitions. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, identity concerns, or emotional regulation and want deeper self-understanding and lasting change. I support those who value a thoughtful, culturally responsive approach and are ready to explore patterns, build coping skills, and reconnect with themselves.

My Background and Approach

My background as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor is shaped by both formal training and a deep respect for each client’s lived experience. I work from a culturally responsive, trauma-informed lens and understand how identity, family systems, culture, and systemic stressors can impact mental health. I have experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, emotional dysregulation, grief, and life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and flexible. I integrate Culturally Adaptive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CA-CBT), person-centered care, and somatic techniques to help clients better understand their patterns, emotions, and nervous system responses. Sessions are conversational and tailored to your needs there is no one-size-fits-all therapy here. Together, we focus on building self-awareness, practical coping skills, and compassion for yourself while working toward meaningful, sustainable change. I believe healing happens in a space where you feel safe, res

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because I have always been drawn to understanding people their stories, their pain, and their resilience. Through my own life experiences and witnessing how unprocessed emotions, trauma, and cultural expectations can shape a person’s well-being, I saw how powerful it is to have a safe space to be truly heard. I learned that healing doesn’t come from being “fixed,” but from feeling understood, supported, and empowered. I was especially motivated to become a therapist to serve individuals who often feel they must carry everything alone or minimize their struggles. I believe mental health care should be compassionate, culturally responsive, and practical. Becoming a therapist allows me to walk alongside others during vulnerable moments, help them make sense of their experiences, and support them in creating meaningful change. It is deeply meaningful to me to offer a space where clients can reconnect with themselves, build confidence.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Depression External link

I support individuals struggling with low mood, lack of motivation, hopelessness, and emotional numbness. Together, we explore contributing factors such as life stress, trauma, identity, and self-talk. Therapy focuses on increasing insight, reconnecting with meaning, improving mood, and building sustainable routines that support emotional well-being.

  • Adjustment Disorder External link

I support clients experiencing emotional or behavioral distress related to life changes such as loss, relationship shifts, health concerns, work stress, or major transitions. I help clients process the stressor, understand their emotional responses, and develop healthy coping strategies to regain balance, improve functioning, and build resilience during periods of change.

  • Anxiety External link

I work with clients who experience chronic worry, panic, social anxiety, or nervous system dysregulation. Using CA-CBT and somatic techniques, I help clients understand anxiety patterns, reduce avoidance, and build practical tools for grounding, emotional regulation, and self-trust so anxiety no longer controls their daily life.

  • PTSD External link

I work with adults who have experienced trauma, including complex or developmental trauma. My approach is trauma-informed and paced, integrating somatic work and CA-CBT to help clients understand trauma responses, reduce triggers, and build safety within the body. The goal is healing without re-traumatization and restoring a sense of control.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

I help clients navigate relationship challenges including communication difficulties, boundary-setting, attachment patterns, conflict, and relational trauma. Whether the concern involves partners, family, or friendships, therapy focuses on increasing self-awareness, improving communication skills, and fostering healthier, more fulfilling connections with others.
