My Ideal Client

Are you feeling stuck in the same habitual patterns that haven't served you? Are you looking for more clarity and ease in your life? I work collaboratively with clients to untangle the knots of hurt, loss, and fear that can accumulate and become obstacles to experiencing joy and presence in life. Cultivating kindness toward ourselves and our experiences is the first step toward making positive shifts in our thinking, behavior, and circumstances.

My Background and Approach

My therapeutic style is compassionate, open-hearted, and curious. I have a background in Buddhist Psychology and Contemplative Psychotherapy. I am trained in EMDR therapy and I use IFS-Informed and Somatic-based therapies with clients. I'm also a certified Mindfulness Instructor. My training is rooted in the healing possibilities of mindfulness, non-judgmental presence, and growing our awareness of interconnection.

My Approach to Helping

My approach is trauma-informed, client-centered, and somatically-based. We will work together to find and nurture feelings of connection, freedom, belonging, and contentment. I use Mindfulness-based and Internal Family Systems-informed modalities to help clients feel less identified with the challenges in their life and to become more open to the positive changes they are seeking.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

Letting our brain do the healing by mirroring the body’s natural method of processing experience.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) External link

Understanding we all have different parts of ourselves that developed out of the wisdom of survival—we can’t change the past but we can change how we relate to it.

  • Somatic Therapy (Body Centered) External link

Increasing our awareness of our body’s experience allows for growth and healing that lasts.

  • Attachment Theory External link

Healing attachment wounds in order to show up fully and securely as our adult selves in present-day relationships.

  • Mindfulness-based External link

Learning to relate to our feelings, thoughts, and patterns instead of becoming flooded by them or identifying with them. Being kind to ourselves is not avoidant, it’s efficient.
