My Ideal Client

I work with kids ages 3-8 yrs old and individual adults.

My Approach to Helping

I believe you are the expert in your own life. I also believe that life is full of experiences that shape the way we perceive ourselves and relate to others, sometimes creating patterns difficult to untangle on our own. As a counselor, my primary focus is to support you in untangling these social-emotional-behavioral knots that limit your ability to fully embrace and accept your beautiful, unique self. I approach the counseling process as a means for you to better understand yourself and your relationships through the collaborative relationship that exists between client and counselor.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Humanistic  External link
  • Play Therapy  External link

Play is kids’ most natural form of communication. Toys are to kids what words are to adults. Play Therapy, like counseling for adults, lets kids express their feelings and process their experiences in order to develop more effective strategies for managing their worlds.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

In our fast-paced, social-media-saturated, and achievement-driven society many adults and children struggle with anxiety. I am passionate about helping both children and adults build trust in their capacity to navigate life's challenges.

  • Child or Adolescent Issues External link

I have special training in child development, parenting support and Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), an evidence-based treatment approach for working with children ages 3-10. I have experience working with children, and their families, facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges, or life transitions.

  • Parenting External link

With specialized training in Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), I support parents in understanding their children's behavior and learn to communicate love and boundaries in ways their children understand. This process is the foundation of a strong parent-child bond which leads to feelings of competency and satisfaction in parenting.
