My Ideal Client

You you are the author and expert of your own life experience, and that everyone has a story and deserves a safe space to share it.

My Approach to Helping

My work is grounded in practices that stem from person-centered philosophies, and I find great value in taking an integrative approach and utilizing a diverse set of therapeutic frameworks to meet each client's individual needs in a shared effort so that you may grow both psychologically and emotionally. I find special value in working with all clients on finding new ways to care for self on a deeper and more intimate level!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

In addition to holding a degree in Counseling Psychology, I have also completed certificate work for the treatment of disordered eating and troubled food relationships. My practice is safe and welcoming to everyone. I am a fat-positive/body-positive provider, as well as LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and poly/kink affirming, aware, and inclusive. My therapy is secular and non-religious.

Techniques I Use

  • Couples Counseling External link

Couples go through highs and lows throughout their relationship, including a variety of issues that range between small and large scale scenarios. I work with couples so that each partner can use their voice to express needs and create a space of trust with each other to establish trust, communication, decrease conflict, create positive change, and increase emotional and physical intimacy.

  • Narrative  External link

As clients are the author of their own life, I enjoy utilizing narrative therapy as a way to assist in creating change in thought patterns and separating self from the problem(s). Re-writing the negativity in your story can reflect your strengths and capabilities.

  • Humanistic  External link

I prefer to look at the whole person, not just from a therapist perspective but also by highlighting the client's perspective of self. My emphasis here is to focus on each client's positive behaviors and traits, and to provide guidance to enhance the ability to use your own personal instincts to find growth, fulfillment, healing, and wisdom within yourself.

Issues I Treat

  • Personal Growth External link

I work with clients to increase awareness through processing life experiences that gives and allows space to finding connection between the mental, emotional, and physical self to reveal your own personal growth potential, and put it into practice.

  • Loss or Grief External link

Grief and loss can come in many forms, due to many situations, both expected and unexpected. I work to help educate my clients around the different stages of grief and loss, and assist in identifying their own unique experiences, where they are at with coping, processing each emotion and feeling that is encountered, and find healing.

  • Adjustment Disorder External link

Life is full of both expected and unexpected transitions, and change can be challenging, exciting, puzzling, and/or scary. My goal is to assist clients in exploring situations that are causing discomfort and adjustment and process the experience(s) to find comfort, relief, and/or contentment in moving forward.

  • Body Image Issues External link

We live in a society that can flood us with negative messages as to how our bodies are wrong. I work with clients to decrease shame and guilt around the body they reside in, and find safety and comfort in taking up the personal space you have the right to occupy .
