My Approach

The perspective I have on health and healing is deeply rooted in my training in Transpersonal/Buddhist Psychology. I use Gestalt, Systems, and Experiential therapy to help clients move deeply into their experience in the here-and-now to live life more fully. I use Somatic Experiencing (TM) to work with all trauma related issues. I use Nonviolent Communication to help clients explore their feelings and needs, improving their connection to their self and to others. I also use meditation and mindfulness practices to increase a client's awareness, helping clients to feel grounded in their self and in the world. I work with people’s strengths and challenges to help them find the unique tools that are just right for them in their journeys towards health and happiness. The path towards greater fulfillment in life begins the moment one feels this longing for something more and answering the call to one’s personal quest is one of the most rewarding gifts a person can give their self.

My Background

I hold a masters degree in Transpersonal Psychology from Naropa University and did my undergraduate work at the University of Oregon in psychology. In my early twenties I began to get involved in mentoring youth-at-risk and learning and practicing Nonviolent Communication. I also spent two years living abroad as a volunteer in the Peace Corps. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon and have extensive experience working with couples, families, and adolescents. I also have experience working in a school setting and with domestic violence issues. Some of the areas I specialize in are: co-dependency issues, adolescent and parenting issues, communication problems, anger, mood and anxiety problems, men's work, spiritual/personal transitions, and trauma related issues. I have been practicing in Oregon since 2009.
