My Ideal Client

Many of us didn't get the support or connection that we needed from our families or communities growing up. Because we're resilient, we developed adaptive strategies for getting our needs met (ex. people-pleasing, perfectionism, numbing, withdrawing, overanalyzing, rebelling, lying, etc.). And these strategies worked for a while! They helped us survive complicated childhoods. But as we get older, they often begin to take a toll on our minds, our bodies, and our relationships.

My Background and Approach

As a queer kid who grew up in a fundamentalist religious community in Mississippi, my journey has been long and hard. But it's also given me the ability to connect deeply with others, both in their suffering and also in their longing for healing. Using a blend of trauma modalities (IFS & EMDR), experiential interventions, and the collective knowledge I’ve gained from the many healers who have helped me on the way, I help my clients learn how to see themselves more objectively and to navigate their lives and relationships more confidently.

More About the People I Treat

Because my approach is directive and experiential, I tend to work best with clients who have had years of talk therapy and are highly motivated for deeper work. Many of my clients are seeking freedom from long-standing patterns that are difficult to shake (insecure & disorganized attachment, BPD, sexual shame and dysfunction, etc.). I also love working with those struggling through grief and loss. When it comes to a good fit, I've found motivation matters more than identity. As a trans woman, I do a lot of beautiful work with LGBTQ+ clients at all stages of their journeys. However, I work equally as well with cisgender/straight men and women who are eager for change and ready to dive in.
