My Ideal Client

Parenting is tender and overwhelming, often at the same time. If you're struggling with big feelings, impossible systems, or the weight of holding everyone together, you belong here. I work with caregivers, children under 7, and youth, especially families navigating poverty, marginalization, or chronic stress. For young people, this is a space to exhale and say the thing you haven't been able to say anywhere else. I'm not here to fix you. I'm here to sit with you.

My Background

I'm a relationship-centered social worker with nearly 20 years of experience supporting children, youth, and families across Portland. I hold an MSW from Portland State University with a focus on community-based practice, and an Early Childhood Education degree from Portland Community College. My career has been rooted in showing up for families navigating hard things, from home visiting and playgroups at the Native American Youth and Family Center, to housing stability and resident services at REACH CDC, to workforce development in early childhood mental health at PSU. I also teach and supervise MSW and BSW students, because I believe in building a field that leads with humility and care. I am grounded in anti-oppressive, culturally responsive practice and committed to sitting with complexity rather than flattening it. I bring warmth, creativity, and a genuine belief that every family deserves a space where they feel truly at home.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I became a therapist because I know how many people are out there quietly carrying too much, and how many young children are navigating big things without enough support. I also believe that parents and caregivers hold enormous power, not just for their kids, but for themselves. When a caregiver shifts toward more relational and emotionally available ways of connecting, something can heal in them too. That possibility moves me. I am committed to anti-racist, anti-oppressive practice and believe that healing cannot happen without acknowledging the systems that cause harm. I welcome and affirm clients of all identities, backgrounds, and family structures, including LGBTQ+ folks, neurodivergent folks, and anyone who has felt unseen in traditional spaces. I have spent many years serving families across a wide range of communities and am equally at home with folks who don't share my identities. I believe joy, creativity, and belonging are not extras. They are essential.
