Are you a new parent struggling to adjust to parenthood? Are you worried about your child or teen's mental health? Struggling with recent change in your family such as grief, loss, divorce, or blending families? Tired of constant conflict, arguing, and fighting taking over your home? We can help. We have therapists with expertise and training in helping parents, children, and teens develop healthier relationships, reduce stress, and improve communication.
Specialties
Our child therapists have extensive experience in play therapy, including a specialized form of play-based therapy called Child-Parent Psychotherapy, which focuses on the parent-child relationship and increasing connection and attachment in young children. We are unique in having experience and training in working with children under 6 years old, which is a highly specialized area in counseling.
Our therapists have a variety of backgrounds in engaging families in treatment. Specialized training in using Structural Family Therapy, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and other relationship-based approaches allow our therapists to confidently treat the entire family and manage conflict within families.
Our Licensed Art Therapist has experience in using art therapy to help teens explore their emotions, build self-esteem, and heal.
We have therapists who practice from a family systems approach and have training in Marriage & Family Therapy, which includes specific training in working with couples. We use approaches such as the Gottman method and Emotion-Focused Therapy, which focuses on adult attachment styles and how your early relationships influence your close relationships in adulthood.
Specialties
Our postpartum/perinatal counselors have completed advanced training from Postpartum Support International to learn how to address the complex needs of postpartum individuals and families. This includes mothers, fathers, and couples. We have therapists who are competent in supporting trans and nonbinary individuals, who are often overlooked in postpartum treatment.
Our therapists who specialize in parenting have advanced training in using Collaborative Problem Solving and Positive Discipline. We coach parents in how to communicate effectively with their kids and how to listen to their kids' needs and address their children's challenging behavior with empathy.
Our family therapists have gone through specific training on working with families as a whole, not just individuals. Any changes or mental health issues in one person in a family affect the entire family. People don't exist in a vacuum! For that reason, family therapists focus on helping your entire family work through conflict around issues such as divorce, blending families, or reunification.
We have counselors who have received specialized training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, an approach that treats young children ages 0-6 who have experienced trauma, violence, or separation from a caregiver. Our child and teen therapists are also trained in play therapy and art therapy, and have experience working in schools and community-based settings.
Our couples counselors have completed training in using the Gottman method and specifically focus on helping couples transition to parenthood and navigate conflict around parenting. This can include co-parenting counseling with divorced or separated couples, as well as helping married couples improve parenting dynamics.
