My Ideal Client

Our wounds and past experiences can get in the way of our ability to connect deeply and be open to love, forgiveness and change. I work with individuals, couples and families who are wanting to enrich and transform their ways of being and relating. Some come into therapy spurred by a crisis, others are seeking deeper self-awareness. I work best with clients who are collaborative and open to listening to themselves. I believe strongly in the human capacity to heal and thrive.

My Approach to Helping

Each person, couple and family are unique. I include a blend of conventional and alternative approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what would be most helpful for you. With sensitivity and compassion, I enable you to build upon your strengths and to identify and achieve your life goals. Some of these modalities include but are not exclusive to EFT Couples, Attachment Theory, EMDR, Interpersonal Nuerobiology.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a late-stage, trauma resolution method. Developed in the late 1980's, EMDR currently has more scientific research as a treatment for trauma than any other non-pharmaceutical intervention. Based on empirical evidence as well as thousands of client and clinician testimonials, EMDR has proven an efficacious and rapid method of reprocessing traumatic m

  • Couples Counseling External link

In therapy, we will be co-creating a safe place, where there is room for any and all vulnerable feelings, beliefs, and thoughts to emerge. I work in a no-shame no-blame zone of ongoing support and warm curiosity. Together we will learn about patterns, triggers, negative thoughts and cycles, feelings, past and present attachment injuries, and how they affect the relationship.

  • Emotionally Focused External link

Emotionally focused therapy proposes that emotions themselves have an innately adaptive potential that, if activated, can help clients change problematic emotional states or unwanted self-experiences. Emotions themselves do not inhibit the therapeutic process, however learning better coping strategies enables clients to move through old behaviors and patterns into a state of increased well being.
