My Ideal Client

Have you been feeling disconnected from your partner? Working through transitional issues related to children, changes in careers, moving/adjustment, and/or retirement? Has there been an affair or other breach of trust? Have you tried having important conversations that end in arguments and never seem to find resolution? I'm here to help you reconnect with your love, your passion, yourself, and your goals.

My Background

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I specialize in couples therapy with an eclectic approach rooted in EFT, attachment, neuroscience, somatic experiencing, and IFS. I also work with individuals, utilizing my background in DBT, IFS, solution focused, and somatic/mindfulness based modalities. I am a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor, which provides a lovely backbone for the other therapeutic approaches I utilize. I really enjoy working with couples experiencing conflict, distress, and infidelity, as well as individuals struggling with anxiety, stress, time management/organization, depression, life transitions, addiction, and eating disorders.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

I believe that change is always possible. I tailor my therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of each individual client, couple, or family who I work with. I am trained in EFT, DBT, and solution focused methodologies. I operate from a trauma informed, body positive, feminist-identifying framework. When I first meet with a couple I gather information about attachment and past relationships which will guide us in tracking patterns of interaction and inform our work, in later sessions. Throughout the therapeutic process, we will explore emotions, patterns, parts of self that arise as you make your way through these patterns, and increase vulnerability and connection through emotion-focused interventions. In individual sessions I will gather information about your goals, and develop a personalized treatment plan to help you accomplish these goals. I support LGBTQI activism and the BLM movement by staying engaged and promoting social justice in and outside of the therapy room.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Emotionally Focused External link

I have completed training in EFT and utilize this modality often with couples in my practice. Using information about attachment/interpersonal neurobiology, we will explore patterns in your relationship and track the "relational dance", identifying emotions that are occurring for each person, and exploring safety in vulnerability to increase connection.

  • Couples Counseling External link

I am currently training in IFIO (internal family systems couples therapy), and am finding great benefit in integrating "parts of self work" into my practice, with couples.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist trained in EFT and Gottman based approaches. I pull from theoretical paradigms such as IFS/IFIO (in training), attachment/interpersonal neurobiology, and somatic experiencing. Challenges with communication, trust, infidelity, connection, parenting/blended families, repair, and intimacy are often themes in my work with couples. I welcome couples in all phases of their relationship.

  • Compassion Fatigue External link

As a therapist who is also a certified Yoga and Meditation teacher, I utilize self compassion and mindfulness based approaches to challenge systems of oppression that perpetuate compassion fatigue.

  • Anxiety External link

I utilize IFS- based approaches, mindfulness based interventions, DBT, and somatic methods to help individuals manage and overcome triggers for anxiety.

  • Eating Disorder External link

I am a HAES informed practitioner with a comprehensive, team-oriented approach to eating disorder treatment. I welcome individuals interested in (and actively pursuing) recovery. Together, we will identify barriers to achieving your treatment goals, explore ways of overcoming these barriers, and create a plan for care.

  • Polyamorous and Open Relationships External link

I love working with couples and individuals who are pursuing ethical non-monogamy. My therapeutic approach is inclusive to all types of relationships. I look forward to exploring your unique relational agreements, and identifying how we can tailor our work together to meet your needs and increase connection and experiences of security in relationship to self and other.
