My Approach

I provide a safe, encouraging and non-judgmental therapeutic environment. My style is warm, collaborative and direct. I believe that compassion and humor are vital ingredients for happiness and healing. My approach is integrative; drawing from a strengths based, humanistic and relational perspective. I employ other modalities to meet individual needs. I place great value in being able to deeply witness, understand and hold space for you in your moments of pain and uncertainty. Some life challenges have the capacity to derail, uproot, and halt us from harnessing our power to live the lives we desire. As a counselor, I place strong emphasis on developing insight and empathy for self to address and resolve problems, change patterns and improve relationships. I hope to offer a transformative therapeutic experience that will enable you to realize your best self. Together we will cultivate the skills, insight and self-confidence intended to benefit you years beyond our time together.

My Background

In 2007 I received my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College. I have 19 years of social service and counseling experience serving adolescents, adults, couples and families. My background is in trauma recovery, grief and loss and medical and health psychology. I have served older adults and families through adjustment, chronic illness, end of life issues and caregiving. Community counseling encompassed a wide range of issues with an emphasis on adjustment, relationships and mood disorders. I enjoy working with couples on parenting, intimacy, loss, transitions, adolescent challenges, infidelity and divorce. I value existential work, helping clients navigate transitions and deepen in their own process of identity development and self-actualization. I place great value on cultural competency and honoring diversity of all forms in my clinical practice. I endeavor to deepen in my own personal & professional evolution striving to be congruent with the principles I impart.
