My Ideal Client

People who are curious, people who are shy, people who are loud and talkative, people who make things or want to make things, people who feel deeply, people who feel shut down or shut off or void or numb or afraid or tipping over with joy -- I am open to working with anyone willing to bring themselves forward. Counseling is a collaborative effort. Within a trusting relationship, clients can get help to restructure thinking and shift habitual responses using awareness and compassion.

My Approach to Helping

I offer my clients deep empathy, kindness, and curiosity for and about their lives. I hold space for others. I generate very little judgment. I make room for feeling. I am authentic and don't wear a mask. I believe that each person is the highest authority on their own experience. I view counseling as an opportunity to collaborate on approaches toward healing. I also love to laugh.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I use she and they pronouns. I am a cis, white, temporarily able-bodied person living in Portland, Oregon. I hold a masters degree in Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. My practice is informed by a strong set of social justice values; access to counseling is one of the cornerstone issues in the dismantling of white supremacy and its oppressive systems. Counseling is one of the oldest human traditions in which a person can begin to heal through the honest and seeing eyes of another.
