Emily K. Frey
Professional Counselor
I believe that the ability to grow is one that all humans naturally possess but that we need help to bravely enact the changes we desire. Counseling can help restructure our thinking and shift our responses using awareness and compassion.

My Approach
I offer my clients deep empathy, kindness, and curiosity for and about their lives. I hold space for others. I generate very little judgment. I make room for feeling. I am authentic and don't wear a mask. I believe that each person is the highest authority on their own experience. I view counseling as an opportunity to collaborate on approaches toward healing.
My Background
I hold a masters degree in Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. My practice is informed by a strong set of social justice values; access to counseling is one of the cornerstone issues in the dismantling of white supremacy and its oppressive systems. Counseling is one of the oldest human traditions in which a person can begin to heal through the honest and seeing eyes of another.
