My Ideal Client

I enjoy working with Highly Sensitive People (HSPs)/empaths, sex workers, LGBTQIA+ folks, BIPOC clients, and people who have survived religious trauma. I work with people who have experienced a range of traumatic experiences throughout their lives and want to explore ancestral-based healing work. As a person who has healed from severe Panic Disorder, I have a unique perspective on ways to move through the overpowering feelings of anxiety and enjoy support folks through this.

My Approach to Helping

My willingness to stay open to my clients' unique experiences in the space we create together allows me to facilitate safety for my clients. My approach operates in the "here-and-now" from a place of both intuition & professional training. I work with clients using a trauma-informed lens to deepen self-knowing, meaning making, support shifts in perspective, as well as emotional and behavioral support. *I believe the therapeutic relationship created between client and therapist in the present moment is the most essential tool for learning, growth, and deepening.* I use a variety of creative interventions to assist the process: -Internal Family Systems (IFS) -Brainspotting -role play -mindfulness/guided meditation -dream assessments -sand tray

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I moved to Portland from New Orleans, LA about 8 years ago in search of new opportunities and a deeper connection with the natural world. I have a background in embodiment practices, comedy/theater, energy work, creativity, and personal struggles that make me the unique healer I am today. Providing mental health services to the community has been a part of my life for the past 10 years. I received by BS in Psychology from Tulane University and my MA in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. I interned for 9 months on the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) specialty team at the Portland VA Hospital where I served Veterans with PTSD and a variety of other mental health issues. I worked for 1.5 years with children ages 8-17 in crisis on a children's inpatient psychiatric unit in New Orleans, LA.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) External link

Parts work is extremely powerful and allows a deeper inner healing experience than many other modalities I have worked with. I incorporate the body & spirit into my work with clients. I am a believer that the there is no separation between mind and body when it comes to mental healthcare. Check out the IFS website more more: https://ifs-institute.com/about-us

  • Brainspotting External link

I offer Brainspotting therapy to a variety of clients and continue to see incredible results. To learn more, visit the website: www.brainspotting.com

  • Sand Tray External link

Sand Tray is offered in-person only (Mondays and Wednesdays) and can be very helpful for processing dreams, feelings, family issues, pre-verbal memories, and more.
