My Ideal Client

I may be a good fit for you if you are looking for support in navigating grief and loss, needing emotional care in pregnancy and/or with postpartum depression and other perinatal emotional distress, or are needing support in navigating big life changes, transitions, and/or rites of passage. I also work with complex trauma, anxiety, elders, queer / trans identifying folks, and sensitive and/or neurodivergent humans.

My Background and Approach

My heart-calling is to guide, 'midwife', & hold space for folks navigating the depths of life’s waters. I work as a guide alongside you on your own unique journey, supporting you in accessing your own inherent wisdom. My approach to care is deeply informed by my background as a midwife. This framework supports me to provide meaningful and experienced care amidst the transitions life brings. I have worked as a healer for over a decade, many of those years supporting families and individuals as a licensed midwife, providing holistic and individualized care. My personal and professional background with my educational experience, has given me an expansive resource to offer authentic and quality care to clients. As an integral therapist, I utilize various modalities, intuitively attuning to provide unique care for you. Gestalt, relational therapy, trauma-focused, spiritual, somatic, humanistic, and transpersonal are some primary approaches amongst others.

Why I Became a Therapist

My wish is to draw from the root system of my own journey to offer you authentic, holistic, and meaningful care. My heart-calling consists of these touchstones because of my own lived journey & experience on planet earth. My early childhood experience introduced me to the lifelong companion of grief. I experienced the loss of a parent at a young age, as well as the perpetual loss of a stable, supportive, attuned, and safe childhood. Although it was a painful beginning to this lifetime, it has ultimately provided me the sacred gifts that bring me to this work as a therapist. It has been through my own journey of healing trauma, navigating the waves of grief, finding more presence in my body and life, and surviving this world as a sensitive-being that ultimately informs me on showing up for others who are suffering or lost. My background as a midwife also informed this path - rooted in reproductive justice and transforming systems of oppression and violence so broadly normalized.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Loss or Grief External link

I hold a 25 + year relationship with grief, and through my own journey coping with deep loss, I have gathered many tools and wisdom. I also have extensive training in "Death Midwifery", graduating from a program through Final Passages as well as my BS in Midwifery. Lastly, I publish an annual artistic zine on grief, which is a meaningful passion project. Through self-study and professional training, I am equipped to support clients in all types of grief (complicated, traumatic, etc.)

  • Postpartum External link

My 4 years of Midwifery college training and 15+ years of practice as a birth worker allowed me the privilege to work with countless birthing families and clients navigating the dramatic changes the postpartum period can bring. Postpartum depression and postpartum emotional disorders are largely missed and untended. I have extensive training in identifying and treating postpartum emotional disorders, while also holding my professional background of contextualizing it through a holistic lens.

  • Pregnancy (Prenatal Mental Health) External link

As a birth worker who has been in the field for 15+ years, I hold a deep passion for families, mothers, and pregnant individuals. Unlike traditional allopathic (western medicine) training and treatment, I have an extensive background in providing holistic care; seeing pregnant individuals within the context of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual existence. I have both the training and experience to tend to the emotional and spiritual realms of pregnancy, to support on all levels.

  • Spirituality External link

Spirituality has been a touchstone to my own experience and navigating the wild ride that is life. In addition to my own relationship and spiritual development, I have training as a clairvoyant, intuitive, and sensitive through the graduate program at Intuitive Way. Having also taken classes such as Spiritual Midwifery, Transpersonal Psychology, Applied Spirituality, and others, higher education in combination with my personal experience has uplifted my expertise as a spiritual therapist.

  • PTSD External link

PTSD, and specifically Complex PTSD or developmental trauma can have significant impact on our lives. Through both my BS in Midwifery school and my MA in Integral Counseling Psychology, I have had several classes focused on trauma care for clients with various manifestations. One of the most impactful training sessions I have attended was Janina Fisher's "Healing the Fragmented Selves of Trauma Survivors". With this training, amongst many others, I feel confident treating trauma holistically.
