My Ideal Client

Are you overwhelmed living in today's world? Have you been carrying the weight of trauma, grief, or identity struggles? Maybe you’re dealing with addiction, conflict in your relationships, or trying to make sense of a spiritual awakening. It would be an honor to join you on your journey of discovery, transformation, and healing. I am passionate about supporting folks affected by systemic marginalization and oppression, as well as anyone who feels outside the mainstream.

My Approach to Helping

I have over 10 years of experience working with children and families. From this, I have an intimate understanding of family systems and how developmental experiences can create adaptive responses that may no longer be serving you. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and am able to provide short-term, solution-focused stabilization or long-term support for trauma-processing. I am trained in EMDR and practice IFS to guide your inner world to a space of empowerment and self-nurturance. I can provide skills training using DBT and CBT. I meet you exactly where you are at, using a compassionate, anti-oppressive, harm-reduction approach. Our work together will be centered around liberation and creativity. I embrace ancestral work and recognize ancestors as a powerful resource. Spirituality and altered states of consciousness are a speciality of mine from the knowledge I have gained through working with plant allies and studying under spiritual teachers.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that a decolonized approach to therapy and life is a huge component in returning to an embodied sense of wholeness and wellness. This involves connecting with the natural world, joining mutual aid networks, and embracing all aspects of our humanity (including queerness, rest, and spiritual dimensions). I am an advocate for racial justice, transgender rights, animal rights, and eco justice. I support workers rights and coalition building within the working class.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

Together, we can use EMDR to facilitate your body's natural healing process. We can target and reprocess specific disturbing memories or images, including trauma, vicarious trauma, nightmares, distressing internet content, and more.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

DBT skills create a foundation of tools that help with emotion regulation and relationships. Using both cognitive and somatic interventions, DBT is highly effective for anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, Bipolar, BPD, and more.

  • Emotionally Focused External link

Emotion-Focused Therapy is attachment-focused and can help facilitate repair for couples. It can help address old relationship ruptures and change patterns/cycles couples may get stuck in.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) External link

IFS helps unify the mind and body through inner communication and resolution. It involves inner child healing and reparenting. It is helpful for PTSD, depression, and addiction.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Gender Identity External link

I am trained in the WPATH standards for transgender care. I can support teens and adults in exploring their gender identity and connect folks to local resources for gender-affirming care.

  • PTSD External link

I am trained in EMDR and trauma-informed care for PTSD and C-PTSD. I can provide a slow, mindful approach to cultivating empowerment and presence through post-traumatic growth. I also recognize that some traumatization is ongoing, and can provide tools to have strategies for safety.

  • Abuse External link

I have experience working with folks who are enduring domestic violence as well as those who are actively leaving abusive situations and needing resources. I can help address the wounds left from abuse experienced as an adult or a child.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

As a queer person myself, I know the complexity of being a member of the LBGTQ+ community at this time. I have an intersectional understanding of queer identities and have an affirming approach.

  • Anxiety External link

I can help provide tools to reduce anxious symptoms without medication. I use a holistic mind-body approach to address panic and anxiety attacks, promote mindfulness, and increase feelings of calm throughout your day.
